FAQs

What is this?

The Boyfriend's Introduction to Feminism is a book
for teen guys and young men about feminism.
Ten chapters, 100 pages, meant to show
how feminism can make their lives better.

What's new in the third edition?

The big changes are mostly in Chapter 7 - the chapter on sex.
I realized I made a pretty big factual error, and I was
also not quite satisfied with age of consent discussion
in that chapter. I fixed my goof then spent a lot of
time revising that chapter. I've also made small changes
in other parts of the text.

Why you?

I am a teacher, a dad, and a life-long feminist.
My parents are feminists. I saw how masculinity
grifters were getting to my male students, and
figured feminism could do a lot better for them.

Why should I read it?

If you are a guy, it will almost certainly improve your life.
If you are a woman, it probably won't - not directly. But likely
you have a boyfriend, or a brother, or a son, cousin, nephew,
neighbor, friend, classmate, coworker, or acquaintance who
would benefit from it. Or, send it to randos who slide into
your DMs. It is free, after all.

Yeah... why is it free?

I realized most of the people who might buy this would
be women. That seemed off. I don't need their money.
So I decided to make it a free e-book. I also wanted it
to be very easy to share, without copyright issues, so I
am releasing it under a Creative Commons license.
A publisher probably wouldn't let me do that.

But you have some plan to cash in later, right?

Not really, no. I'm okay for money. I just wanted
to put it out there. I am not even tracking downloads
or cookies or any kind of data.

Can I read it on my Kindle?

Yes. Download the EPUB and then use
https://www.amazon.com/sendtokindle

What if I want to print it out?

Go for it. The PDF file is the version you want to print.

Will there be an audiobook version?

If I can figure out how to get Alan Ritchson to read it.

Do you have an Instagram/Twitter/BlueSky/TikTok/YouTube/etc.?

Nope. I am not a fan of social media, especially video. I am
on Reddit; that's about it. Some of the material in the book
was inspired by questions guys asked in a feminist sub.

Not even a podcast?

Nope.

Can I tell you where you messed up?

Always, but this project is more or less done.
I am not planning to revise it again. If I made
(another) major mistake, I'll fix it. Minor stuff, I'll
probably let slide. In any event, you are welcome to
send an email to g@bfitf.net
